Description
The Toyota Hilux / Toyota Quantum 2.5L 2KD engine is the 2KD-FTV, a 2.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine from Toyota’s KD engine family. It is a 4-cylinder, 16-valve DOHC, direct-injection common-rail diesel engine, widely used in Hilux pickups and Toyota Quantum/HiAce vans.
The 2KD-FTV is a 2,494 cc (2.5L) inline-four turbo-diesel engine using Toyota’s D-4D common-rail direct-injection system. It has a cast-iron block, aluminum cylinder head, DOHC 16-valve valvetrain, turbocharger and a 92.0 mm × 93.8 mm bore/stroke.
There are several versions of the 2KD-FTV, so the output depends on the vehicle and year.
