Description
The Toyota 1HZ is one of Toyota’s best-known heavy-duty diesel engines. It is a 4.2-liter naturally aspirated inline-six diesel, designed primarily for durability, simplicity and dependable operation in demanding conditions.
The engine has 4,164 cc displacement, 6 cylinders, SOHC 12-valve construction, 94 × 100 mm bore and stroke, a 22.4:1 compression ratio, mechanical distributor-type fuel injection and no factory turbocharger. In later Land Cruiser applications, Toyota rated it at 96 kW (about 129 hp) at 3,800 rpm and 285 Nm at 2,200 rpm.
