Description
The Toyota 2E is a 1.3-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine from Toyota’s E-series engine family. It is a 4-cylinder inline engine with a SOHC cylinder head and 12 valves (3 valves per cylinder). It was widely used in Toyota compact cars, including the Toyota Conquest 1.3 in South Africa and other African-market applications.
The 2E is part of Toyota’s E-series.
- 2 = second-generation E-series engine
- E = Toyota E engine family
The standard 2E was generally carbureted, while 2E-E denotes an electronically fuel-injected version. Toyota also produced turbocharged derivatives called 2E-TE/2E-TELU, but these should not be confused with the naturally aspirated 2E used in the Conquest 1.3.
